About Me
Welcome! I am Maya and I am a self-taught oil painter from Canada.
A glimpse into my testimony: I’ve always painted since I was young, but my passion faded when I reached high school. After graduation, I found myself uncertain of who I wanted to be, having spent years changing myself to fit worldly desires. Thankfully, though, two years later, I turned away from the world and found Jesus. In the midst of it all, He saved me from the future I was heading towards, and gave me a new life—a greater life than I could have ever imagined. In those years of seeking Him, I began to see His glory in all things—through the multitude of trees, the rising sun, and the beautiful ocean waters. The more I grew in love with Him, the more my passion for painting was revived, guiding me towards a career filled with purpose.
Through my art, I strive to reflect His truth and greatness on canvas, in hopes that His presence may dwell in the hearts and homes of those who behold it.
My style mostly blends landscape realism with touches of surrealism, capturing both the beauty of the natural world and the deeper, spiritual truths behind it. I am deeply inspired by the countries I've traveled to: Canada, Cuba, and Ukraine. From the tropical greenery of Cuba, to the peaceful village life of Ukraine, or the Canadian wildlife, I am constantly touched by the diversity of God's creation! See below for some of my recent inspiration :)
